Wedding Anniversary DIY

We organized a 30th wedding celebration for our Ninong P and Ninang G today.

And of course I can't  pass the chance to put my DIYng skills in use.

For the boutonniere, bouquet and centerpieces, I used a bundle of roses and baby's breathe.

I used a half-inch green ribbon I have on hand to bundle them up.

The fish bowl candle holder I got from dollar tree.

These floral arrangements were simple and affordable.

I used spearhead shape bunting for the first time, and it looked perfect for the occasion.

I used jute twine, mini-clothespin and scrap laces/ribbons to assemble the whole thing.

Trick or Treat DIY

I usually make "trick or treat" goodies for family extra special. 

This year I came up with this broomstick looking goodie bag.

I used brown snack bags,

thin branches (from the tree in front of our house)

and jute twines.

Walk to Emmaus

Emmaus, a village seven miles from Jerusalem,

Jesus joined two men walking but they weren’t able to recognize him

First day of school DIY: Maya

On memorial day weekend, I made this first day of school loot bag

for hubby's eldest niece Maya.

I chose white because I wanted to draw a picture of her going to school.

And write her name too.

It will also be cool, for her to color the drawing afterwards.

I included the following supplies inside her bag:

Clockwise:  Scribble Pad, Construction Paper, Manuscript Tablet,

Glue Sticks, Scissors, Erasers, Pencil #2 (with sharpener),

Crayons, Markers and Colored Pencils.

Scrapalbums: Baby Baptism Edition

With these I went digital. These two, I created for hubby's nieces.

This one is for the eldest one Maya

And this one is for her little sister Jasmine

Both photo books were created through Shutterfly. You can use Simple Path when you're new to creating photo books or avail of their newest Make My Book Service. I love to use the Custom Path when creating mine.

For Baby Josiah

This is the first diaper cake I made after giving birth,

it's for a church friend's son.

Ingredients:

74 pcs - Pampers Swaddlers Diapers Giant Pack, Size 1

4 pcs - Flannel Baby Blankets Snooz'n Safari 4pk - Cloud Island™ - Yellow

1 pc - Ty Tiptop Giraffe

The mathematician in me came up with this simple formula:

Top tier = 2 (Total diapers) / 9

Middle tier = Total diapers / 3

Bottom tier = 4 (Total diapers) / 9

Father's Day DIY

Here are some DIY projects I did for father's day this year:

These chocolate treats were Thor's gift for his Daddy, grandpas and uncles.
I helped him buy, wrap and decorate each one of them.

But let's be honest it's very practical and universal.

Souvenir Onesie

I love statement onesie as you can see here, here and here. We went for a trip out-of-state for my birthday last year, and I got these two cute souvenir onesies for my boy and his Ate Jasmine. The one on the left is from The Ark Encounter and the other from Creation Museum.

Child Dedication DIYs: Gray and White

For my boy's dedication, I DIY'd couple of things... centerpiece and bunting.

This centerpiece is very simple. Materials are inexpensive too. I used plastic cups to keep the flowers fresh since the bucket itself can't hold water. I used paper straws instead of dowel rods to attached photos I printed for free via Shutterfly. Checkout your local grocery store for flowers. I got mine for $12 for 3 bunches. Lastly I used table napkins as cheap alternative coasters that also add color to the look.

Materials: Galvanized Bucket, Plastic Cups, Paper Straws, Photos, Flowers (e.g. Baby's Breathe, Daisy), Table Napkins

For the bunting, I used swallowtailed pattern for a more elegant look. I used darker shade outline for cut-out letters for the emboss effect. I got all materials from Michael's. They have large array of cardstocks, twines and other bunting materials.
